Ryne Nelson I hope no one is taking this seriously, but I completely understand where you're coming from, Shoals. -
bigboi Its kind of embarassing when people write articles that either show their extremely poor memory or the fact they are writing something to know very little about.
" I don't know what Kobe did or didn't do to break up Shaq's marriage."
Oh how quickly we forget the Kobe snitching statements during the rape scandal, huh?
I know it's all in good fun at a bar, but I hope Shaq is working out hard this summer to be able to back up the lyrics with his on court play next season. Shaq, Nash, Amare the new "Big Three" for next season?
-
The Zoner new big 3 for next season-- Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Jo Noah. LOL. A Bulls fan can dream though... -
FreeDarko My bad. I know nothing about basketball and fried my brain by eating too many Twizzlers.
Let me put you on to a hot new turn of phrase: "I don''t know what Kobe did or didn't do to break up Shaq's marriage" is casual, blog-speak for "I do not definitively know if Kobe's remark lead to Shaq's divorce. However, if he was cheating, like many pro athletes do and are known to by their spouses, it's strange that Bryant would be the sole cause of the O'Neals marital disharmony"
And wow, jump in the wayback with me, and let's revisit the reasons given for the divorce at the time.

EthanJaynes Big Boi. Back away from the keyboard.
You are messing with "Free Darko"
Do your homework hoss.
-
bigboi LOL @ twizzlers.
Clearly the kobe snitch was not literally the cause of the break up, or it would be quite the 'after shock' to the event. But it was pretty genius the way Shaq freestyled the snitch into his divorce situation.
It's funny though, I always thought regular people had affairs too. Those pro-athletes are the root of all evil.

The Zoner "Do Your Homework, Hoss" has been given a greenlight for the fall season on CBS. A synopsis:
He looks like an unassuming college student. A middle-aged man heading back to school to learn new skills for a career change. But he's not. He's former Super Bowl champion QB Jeff Hostetler. And he majoring in partying! It's 3rd down and wacky hijinks to go! This fall on CBS!
Sponsored by University of Phoenix.
-
EthanJaynes As long as I can reuse the opening theme music from Mr. Belvedere.
-
The Zoner mmm.....no. -
chone Shoals is prescient...how'd he know this would be such a big story? -
WithMalice Ummm... bigboi? Do you really think this was 'freestyled'? -
bigboi A LOT of free stylin' is little bits and pieces of lyric and rhyme thought out in advance. The art is bringing it all together on the spot in a rhyme that you can beat match, and add in a few lyric that are real time.
So if you are asking if I think Shaq made up that Kobe snitch thing on the spot in real time, answer would be no. i'm sure Shaq and his marketing machine worked that out in advance. But it certainly didn't take away from the entertainment factor.....
Or else we wouldn't still be talking about it.
-
WithMalice Yup.
But I'm betting they didn't figure on the negative publicity. And Shaq losing his two sheriff badges? That will hurt him more than any negativity from the public. Which is as much an indication of a juvenile attitude as doing this in the first place.
