Black & Branded: SJ’s New Hi-Tech Jerseys
KK Hockey —
From the San Jose Sharks:
The branding of the “BlackArmor” sweater is a unique marketing partnership between the Sharks and Seagate, marking the 12th season that the organizations have been partners. Seagate also serves as the presenting sponsor of the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Month” and the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Year” Awards.
The branding of the alternate sweater coincides with Seagate’s promotion of its BlackArmor™ product, the world’s first safe portable hard drive. The BlackArmor portable hard drive from Seagate is a storage solution that provides ...
Puck Headlines: Islanders ice girls are parts authorities
Puck Daddy —
Here are your Morning Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media. • The New York Islanders Ice Girls are authorities on parts. Oh, our mistake: They're in a commercial for Parts Authority. In any event, this commercial needs more jacking. And awarding-winning acting from Chris Campoli and Mike Sillinger. • As the hockey world waits for Michael Nylander's seemingly inevitable trade to the Chicago Blackhawks, ...

Sharks Gameday: Black Jerseys, Huh?
Battle of California —
So, you may have heard there's this little thing called, erm, BlackArmor debuting against the Caps on Saturday night. It's black (duh) and not a heck of a lot different from the old black jerseys. Guess those early reports were wrong. (The good news? There's not a Seagate logo to be found. Fortunately, Euro-style sponsorships haven't crept into the league as some had feared.) Still, you guys know that I'm just a teeny tiny bit superstitious. The old black jerseys were seemingly cursed, at least for the first few seasons. I don't have specific numbers but I believe that the team's record when wearing them was roughly 0-19573893-2. They did ...

... What's new, how are the kids doing? Sucking your 401K dry by spending money on the new Sharks Black Armor? Bummer. At least they're gaining an appreciation for some classic rock n' roll while they're at it. Back In Black by AC/DC is probably going to be the most overplayed song at The Tank on the nights when the Sharks rock the third jerseys. That's okay though. I'm not complaining. Nothing like shooting to thrill the home crowd, and shaking us all night long. What do you do for money Sharkie? Don't worry about it, have a drink on you instead eh? Gladly. What's ...
