So let me throw in my 2 cents about the sound of New Yankee Stadium.
1) The accoustics are different. The upper bowl is pulled back significantly from the overhanging upper deck of the Old Stadium. This effects the volume
2) There is room for 52,325 fans including standing room. Old Yankee Stadium housed 57,545, a reduction of nearly 10%.

... It seems the biggest loser so far this World Series is the Rich Folks Fortress in the Bronx. I thought it was just my middle aged ears that couldn’t hear the crowd noise but after reading and talking to some fans who were at the games, it seems the Grey Poupon crowd just ain’t into cheering. It could also be that real fans A/K/A Poor Bastards in the upper deck and bleachers are closer to Van Cortlandt Pak than they are the playing field and their veil disgusting comments float like a fart in the wind.
