The rookie RB had a nice season last year, but struggled at times, perhaps due to this injury. Interesting that the Pats let Corey Dillon go, as they likely knew of this problem before the Boston Herald did.

While it's never a good thing to hear this - I'm not sure how much of an effect this would have on Corey Dillon. I think Corey was out of here either way.
If Maroney isn't at 100% there are other options that suit us better than Dillon in my opinion. We'll see what the off-season brings. I'm holding a positive thought for Laurence Maroney, hopefully he can safely and effectively overcome the damage.
