Falcons RB Dunn requests release from team
Jim Trotter, SI.com The Atlanta Falcons added one running back Sunday, but will lose another in the near future. Veteran Warrick Dunn requested his release Sunday after the Falcons signed free-agent running back Michael Turner to a six-year, $34.5 million deal that reportedly includes $15 million in guarantees. Dunn, an 11-year veteran who led the Falcons in rushing each of the past four ... [link]

We Got Michael Turner And You Didn't!
Published 3/3/2008 by Dave the Falconer <info@thefalcoholic.com> at The Falcoholic: Front Page Posts
... Now we have that complement. There's a lot of questions about how Michael Turner will stand up to a full season's worth of pounding and whether he can be as effective when he's not backing up one of the game's greatest players. There's also justifiable concern about the size of his contract, which is a 6-year, $34.5 million affair. His signing also will apparently lead to the exit of Dunn, who SI.com reports has asked to be released. ...

WARRICK WANTS OUT
Published 3/3/2008 by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
... . Jim Trotter of SI.com reports that Dunn already has requested his release . Trotter says that several teams would be interested in Dunn, including the Cowboys, Texans, and Broncos. But as said Internet hack noted, Tony Dungy should consider bringing Dunn to Indy.  Both left Tampa after the 2001 season, and Warrick still doesn’t have the Super Bowl ring that he deserves. And we think that Dunn’s skills would fit nicely within the Indy offense.  No offense to Kenton Keith, but the combination of Joseph Addai and Warrick Dunn is a lot more appealing in the Colts’ backfield.

Warrick is coming to the Colts

... But first things first: Dunn needs to get released. He's already requested a release from Atlanta, and if the Falcons have any decency they will do it. I will keep my eye on this. The Colts want Warrick, and Warrick wants to be a Colt. It's now a matter of getting something Dunn (yes, pun intended; sue me).

Lions Sign a Tight End, Want a Running Back
Published 3/3/2008 by Sean Yuille <info@prideofdetroit.com> at Pride Of Detroit: Front Page Posts
... The first name that the Lions were rumored to have had interest in was Michael Turner, who ended up signing with Atlanta.  Although he is now off the market, signing with the Falcons actually has caused Warrick Dunn to ask to become a free agent.  The Lions will likely take a look at Dunn, but it doesn't really sound like he will have very much interest in coming to Detroit. ...

Good Night, Sweet Prince: Warrick Dunn Released
Michael Turner's signing meant that, inevitably, Warrick Dunn would be released. Because he asked for the release, I'm glad the Falcons didn't drag their feet and make a mess out of this. It still sucks to see him go. I'll remember Warrick as one of the game's nicest guys. I doubt I'm alone there, but during his time with the Falcons he rushed for over 1,000 yards three times . He'll leave ...

You have to think the Cowboys have to be just a bit interested in the former NFL Man of the ...
Warrick Dunn: “Dunn” in Atlanta…now where does he sign?
That didn’t take long… …just a day after signing Michael “The Burner” Turner to a monster free agent contract, the Falcons released Warrick Dunn . Possible Landing Spots? ...

Where will Dunn end up?
As many of you already know, the Atlanta Falcons released veteran running back Warrick Dunn earlier today. You could see this coming when the club signed former Chargers running back Michael Turner to a six-year, $34.5 million contract Sunday. Dunn, an 11-year NFL veteran, is a former NFL Man of the Year award winner who still has some tread left on the tires. I think his days as a starter ...

Warrick Dunn To Land In Houston?
That's the rumor , anyway.  Allow me to preface what I'm about to write with this:  Warrick Dunn may well be the best PERSON in the entire NFL.  His off-the-field charity work is second to none, and he seems to be one of those rare people who understand that with great wealth comes the opportunity to help those who need it.  I really, really, really like Warrick Dunn. Did Jerious Norwood hit on Arthur Blank's wife or something?
Falcons running back Jerious Norwood spent 2007 thoroughly outperforming teammate Warrick Dunn in every possible way. Norwood averaged 6 yards per carry, and Dunn averaged 3.2. He never fumbled, and he caught more passes for more yards than Dunn.  And still, he had to sit there and watch Dunn get twice the carries he did. They weren't splitting time ... Dunn had 227 carries, and ...

Why Is Dunn Still a Falcon?
The Falcons did everything they could to fix their running game with the signing of Michael Turner . Turner's size and speed, combined with Jerious Norwood 's big play ability should give the Falcons a solid running game, if they can find anyone to block. But it also begs the question, why is Warrick Dunn still on the roster? The Falcons are going to cut Dunn, it's just a matter of when they ...
Warrick Dunn Asks To Be Released
With the signing of Michael Turner and the steady play of Jerious Norwood, as expected Warrick Dunn has asked the Falcons to be released. He would be a change of pace and he has been fairly steady in his career.
