SINGLETARY WANTS TO GET RID OF “CANCERS”
ProFootballTalk.com —
As it turns out, Sunday’s eye-popping postgame press conference from new 49ers coach Mike Singletary was preceded by an even more fiery locker-room speech, during which Singletary promised to rid the team of “cancers.” “There are some people in this room that don’t need to be here,” Singletary told the team, according to Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports. “ We’ve got guys in here that are cancers ...

Report: 49ers Made Up Shaun Hill Arm Injury; Mike Nolan Was Tired of the Warm and Fuzzy
FanHouse —
Filed under: 49ers, NFC West, NFL RumorsMichael Silver of Yahoo sports penned a rather eye-opening column today in regards to the former (and current) coaching situation in San Francisco. Honestly, it appears the Raiders aren't the only team in the bay area currently cornering in the market on crazy, psychotic behavior. First, let's begin with the rumor that the two Mike's (Nolan and Martz) made up a report regarding quarterback Shaun Hill having a "tired arm" in training camp, all in an effort to keep him off the field, and J.T. O'Sullivan on the field. Sounds crazy, but when you consider the bizarre, unwavering support that Martz ...

Mike Nolan And Mike Martz Apparently Lied In Saying Quarterback Sean Hill Had A Tired Arm
FanIQ Blog —
I always hated Mike Nolan as a coach. Way too conservative, way too stubborn, total idiot. And now in a bizarre story from Yahoo! Sport's Michael Silver, it appears that Nolan also tried to sabotage QB Shaun Hill's career.
Hill, who many of you don't know, was San Francisco's starter for the last two games at the end of last season and performed so well that the team signed him to multi-year contract. So, why exactly didn't he start the season under center, especially after Alex Smith went down with a broken shoulder?
Well, it seems that Mike Nolan and offensive coordinator Mike Martz for some reason decided to make up that Hill had a tired arm ...

Mike Singletary Will Make the 49ers More Disciplined
bleacherreport.com 10/26/2008 — Mike Singletary has done something that you would never see Mike Nolan do. He got in the face of his defense and let them know that what they're doing is unacceptable and that they need to start playing better. Expect the 49ers' defense to play better after the bye week because he will have time to transition to his way of coaching, instead of Nolan's.
The defense had played horribly and allowed two short passes to Leonard Weaver that were turned from what should have been minimal gains to two huge ...
