Can Rooney score this goal against Barcelona?
Published 4/11/2008 by Ahmed Bilal at Soccerlens
... Everyone will expect Cristiano Ronaldo to show up and score, but my money (as always) is on Rooney popping in with an incredible finish. There are few bigger stages than the Camp Nou hosting a Champions League semifinal, and with history in mind (91, 99 and while we’re at it, the 07 drubbing at San Siro), you can count on this United side giving another professional performance.
Rooney to score against Barcelona? Might be worth a punt…

Thierry Henry To Prepare For Ignominous Exit From Barcelona

Barcelona are poised for a lip-smacking showdown with Manchester United in the Champions League semi-finals. The entertaining football will be value for money and I am sure the Red Devils will relish this encounter after fond memories of clearing the Catalan hurdle en-route to lifting the Champions League crown in 1999.Cruyff: United ‘The best’ but Barca can exploit them.

When Johan Cruyff speaks you listen. The best footballer of all time in my book, and a manager who won the Spanish league and of course the Champions League itself, with Barcelona back in 1992. Sticll in an advisor role at Barca he cast his eye of the upcoming semi final between his former club and Manchester United; and suggested ways the Catalan club can overcome them. So Manchester United and Barcelona advanced to the semis with fairly boring 1-0 wins on Wednesday. That means three of the four teams left in the European championship are from England: Red Devils, Chelsea and Liverpool. I don't like it. Come on Barcelona! It's kinda like all four No. 1 seeds advancing to the Final Four in the NCAA tournament. I loved when Porto was winning, when there was ...Manchester United and Barcelona to meet in semi-finals

A "dream" semi-final was setup yesterday when both Manchester United and Barcelona advanced to the semi-finals on the back of 1-0 home wins. Much has been made of the fact that United fielded a "B" team last night as Sir Alex Ferguson gave Cristiano Ronaldo the evening off and restricted Wayne Rooney to a 16-minute cameo. Patrice Evra was also absent as Mikael Silvestre was given a start ...YouTube Blast from the Past: Let’s Get Ready for Barcelona

Sir Alex Ferguson likes to reminisce about the good and sometimes bad old days - I suppose you have plenty of memories when you’ve been managing one of the biggest football clubs in the world for over twenty years. Thierry Henry is a player who United fans will ever be fond of, due to his affiliations with our former title rivals.
