I asked Nate before the game if he appreciates being included in ceremonies like Spencer's jersey retirement. His answer brought a round of laughter at the end -- and then some backpedaling on Nate's part. That s always special to be a part, McMillan...

SonicsCentral.com - Where we talk about the NBA...no really...we're trying — ... I disagree with that in this case. There is an East Coast bias but the main reason why Gelly didn’t make it is 1) his counting stats aren’t as superficially impressive as say, Adam Morrison’s who has been the very definition of 1-dimensional this year, and 2) this is the 6th worst team in the league. I agree with Frank that he probably should have made it in over Jordan Farmar & Millsap, but the difference is those guys play on winning teams. That’s also the reason it was hard for Shareef to get noticed, not primarily because he played on the West Coast but because his Grizz teams were terrible. Frank also says Danny could very well be waived (wouldn’t surprise me a bit) and that inquiries were made regarding Gasol, also not a surprise.

The Association — ... 4. Sonics Insider talks about New Orleans recovery from Katrina: One of my favorite newpaper blogs is the Sonics Insider by Frank Hughes. Most of the beat writers have blogs that act more or less like deleted scenes from their newpaper articles. Most of them are wordy and useless. Well, the Sonics Insider offers not only insight into the Sonics, but also the rest of the league. On Friday, there were two posts that describe his recent trip to New Orleans. Please check them out:

Enjoy the Enjoyment — ... on their draft chart, reports Joe Freeman. Interesting--I suspect Bayless and Westbrook will always be measured against one another--they'll likely play in the same division for a long time. So the Blazers' top seven are, in no particular order: Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Fernandez, Jerryd Bayless, Ike Diogu, Travis Outlaw. Yeah, that'll work. If you want detailed info on how this all went down, I recommend BlazersEdge or Sonics Insider. here are all the draft day trades from ESPN. If you haven't ...
