Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner wants to hire Mike Holmgren as his vice president of football operations, ESPN.com reports . The former Seahawks and Packers coach is one of four candidates Lerner is pursuing for the job, which would include the authority to hire a general manager, according the report. From Adam Schefter of ESPN.com : One of the first people Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner will contact to run his team, if he hasn't contacted him already, is former Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren, according to a team source. Holmgren is itching to return to football and the opportunity he would have in Cleveland would be an attractive one. At least it sounds like Lerner has a plan going forward and he wants to bring in an experienced man to run the operations. I wish he would have done this last offseason, but it sounds like he's learned from his mistake and is trying to rectify the situation. I guess this gives us hope for the future, which is all we can have at the moment.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Browns owner Randy Lerner is very interested in bringing in Mike Holmgren to run the Browns. According to Schefter, Lerner wants Holmgren to take on a role similar to the one that Bill Parcells has in Miami.
