The rumor went from true to false today, but one can still hope that talks concerning a Pedro Martinez signing by the Fish are true. Later articles claimed that the Marlins would much rather give rotation spots to youngsters with potential like Anibal Sanchez and Andrew Miller than to an aging, ailing Pedro, and I have to say I agree with that thinking. Growing pains blow, but the Marlins were pretty competitive last year with a rotation full of guys under 25 (and Mark Hendrickson haha). So let them try it again...another year older, another year wiser I always say. Plus I'm always pulling for Anibal Sanchez since he's a former Red Sox guy.

However, yesterday, the Miami Herald and the Sun-Sentinel both say the Marlins are not interested, with the Herald suggesting Martinez may have contacted them, because they were his ‘first choice.’
