The Denver Broncos have a new assistant G.M. And it’s Brian Xanders , formerly of the Falcons. Xanders joins Jim and Jeff Goodman to make up a potential “triangle of scapegoats” who report to coach Mike Shanahan. The long-time Atlanta front-office employee’s specialty is negotiating contracts and managing the salary cap. It could be that he took the fall with the Falcons for crafting the Mike Vick contract in a manner that prevented the team from recovering roughly $16 million that the team thought it would/should/could get back.
