BlackSportsOnline If you actually read the story it states clearly they have not even discussed it, but ESPN is reporting it as if they have talked about it. Only the "unnamed" Cowboys source is talking about it.
Are you kidding me? What type of journalist are we dealing with here?

MoonDogLeft Awfully expensive to send T.O. down the road. He'd count somewhere in the neighborhood of $9.5 million against the cap. -
PrepChamps My thoughts EXACTLY. Who are these supposed "sources" - must be a slow news day and they're just tryin to stir up some controversy.

Owens Could Be Gone From Dallas, Saying Hello To New England Soon
Sports Blog - football, basketball, and baseball —
Dallas had a fallout that was pretty bad, and when things go bad in Dallas, Jerry Jones pulls the plugs on players he feels are responsible. First example, Pacman Jones, who was released last week. Tank Johnson is rumored to be on his way out the door, and after that?

... ' future, according to team and league sources who spoke with ESPN's Ed Werder. Owner Jerry Jones has pointed to the negative impact that Owens' release would have on the club's salary cap as a major reason for keeping the receiver around. But it sounds like others at Valley Ranch, namely his son Stephen, are trying to convince Jones that releasing T.O. would be worth the financial risks. ...
REPORT (AGAIN): OWENS ON THE OUTS?
ProFootballTalk.com —
... given all the hype regarding ESPN’s report on ESPN’s report about a matter that previously had been reported resulted in Pacman’s release, the thing has been dusted off and gussied up and presented as a brand-new news item. Here’s the lead sentence from Werder’s “new” report: “Improving locker room chemistry will be the highest priority for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason and that will force serious discussions between Wade Phillips’ coaching staff and owner Jerry Jones about whether to release controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens , according to team and league ...

None of it will likely compare to this latest bit of news, which involves Terrell Owens (quelle surprise). Blogging The Boys —
... you wish for. Garrett, if the rumors of the week are to be believed, has put a T.O.-or-me ultimatum on the table:
The potential of the Cowboys losing Garrett to another team could accelerate the timetable for a decision about Owens. They had expected not to face a deadline until his $3 million roster bonus is due June 3. But that changes if Garrett finds himself in a position to leave the Cowboys and makes Owens' departure a condition of his remaining.

How do you solve a problem like TO?
Uwe Blog —
... Now, there several ways to look at this: Either there is a legitimate leak that has the ear of reporters including ESPN's Ed Werder or Chris Mortensen (if you listen to Cowboys writer Mickey Spagnola on The Ticket, he suggests without saying it that those guys are making shit up, which is ridiculous). Or the Cowboys are simply leaking all of this and keeping it secret. My theory fits with the latter. I think the "source" within the organization is either/or/both Jerry Jones-Stephen Jones. It came out recently that Stephen Jones wants TO out and will need to convince dear ol' dad ...

... BUT ANYWAY, reports are saying the Cowboys might release Terrell Owens, because Terrell Owens is being Terrell Owens. That is, he’s become too much of a pain to work with, and the Cowboys are looking to improve team chemistry. So lets think about this logically. It hasn't been discussed yet, but the headline states that Dallas may release him, but if it hasn't been discussed yet, how would the source know? Isn't it more likely the source just has opinion on what he thinks will happen as oppose to any hard core facts? Why didn't Ed Werder try to contact Jerry or Stephen Jones?
