REDSKINS CUT SHAUN ALEXANDER
ProFootballTalk.com — The career of a former NFL MVP may have come to an end. Mike Sando of ESPN.com is reporting that the Washington Redskins have released running back Shaun Alexander. The Redskins signed Alexander for running back depth while Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts were battling injuries, but he hasn’t made much of an impact, with just 11 carries for 24 yards.  Alexander did not play at all Sunday against his former team, the Seahawks. Alexander is 31 and has averaged three and half yards a carry the last three years, so he has probably played his last NFL game.
