ESPN.com’s John Clayton says the Packers are near a three-year contract extension through 2012 that will include a minimum of $27 million in new money. It can be worth as much as $30 million if he performs at a “Pro Bowl level.” Jennings was scheduled to make $535,000 in 2009. That may seem surprising until you realize that currently numbers two and three on that list belong to Antonio Bryant (via his franchise tag) or T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Armed with that fact, Jennings coming in behind Larry Fitzgerald makes perfect sense.
