Keeping Fans in the Loop OR I Wish Mark Cuban Owned the Knicks
Half-Blog Half-Amazing (An NBA Blog) —
... The Isiah Thomas Era is thankfully over. The Donnie Walsh Era has begun. I have read recently that Donnie is thinking of spending major money to hire Mike D’Antoni as the the new coach (a move I fully support). Before Donnie makes too many moves, I would like to give him (and our owner Jim Dolan) some advice. Look at how Mark Cuban keeps Mavs fans in the loop and copy that model. Understand that fans in general are rational, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable. We understand teams go through ups and downs. During the downs, we just want an idea ...

... . And not wanting to give a coach a 5-year contract is certainly reasonable. Marc Stein reports that the Knicks will offer 5 years, with the Bulls giving their proposal by "Sunday at the latest". Going From The Suns To The Knicks Is, Uh, Well. . . An Interesting Career Choice
Sports Blog - football, basketball, and baseball —
... Mike D’Antoni, former coach of the Suns, isn’t taking my same path. According to reports, he’s speaking with the Knicks — yes, the same Knicks that are way over the salary cap and have absolutely nothing bright about their outlook — and they’re reportedly offering D’Antoni a 5 year, $30 million deal, which will make it hard for D’Antoni to say no, even if it does mean moving from Steve Nash to Stephon Marbury. ...
