RAMS FOR SALE?
Published 5/20/2008 by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
When Rams owner Georgia Frontiere died in January, speculation immediate arose as to the future of the franchise. Initial reports indicated that Dale “Chip” Rosenbloom was expected to take control of the team . We thereafter heard rumblings that minority owner Stan Kroenke had purchased a potential path to majority ownership. Kroenke’s ownership of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche could be a problem, however, unless Kroenke buys the Rams and swaps them for the Broncos. (NFL rules permit owners to also own teams that play in other pro sports leagues, as long as none of the other teams are in another team’s market.) Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Rams are ...
JAGS FOR SALE, TOO?
Published 5/20/2008 by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
Buried in Michael Silver’s report that the St. Louis Rams are for sale is an even bigger potential bombshell. Citing an unnamed “high-ranking league source,” Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver has solicited buyers in recent months . Former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo, who now lives in the Tampa area and has made no secret about his interest in buying the Buccaneers, told Silver that he’s skeptical Weaver will sell.“I think [he’ll sell] every year, but it doesn’t happen,” DeBartolo said. “I get the feeling that Wayne really wants a Super Bowl, and every year he keeps thinking, ‘It’s gonna be the year,’ and he decides to keep them.” It has long been believed that the Jaguars are one of the teams that could ...
Apocalypse Now

It's official...the NFL owners have lost their minds. They don't like giving up 60% of their revenue to the players and will fight tooth and nail to get that number back down. The last contribution of Paul Tagliabue has been wiped off the boards, and we are headed to an uncapped 2010 season in which the Washington Redskins will buy virtually every player in the NFL, leaving the rest of us to watch monkey play linebacker. I'm not sure if this is a future Colt, or a picture of Ralph Wilson Ok, so maybe that's a bit extreme, but I can't see how this is good news for the Colts. Yes, Lucas Oil Stadium will help ...
In With the Old: Return of the L.A. Rams?
Published 5/20/2008 by Tom Mantzouranis at FanHouse
Filed under: Rams, NFC West, NFL Real Talk, St. LouisDespite what we may have been led to believe, new St. Louis Rams owners Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez have put the team they inherited from Georgia Frontiere up for sale. The duo indicated that they were dedicated to keeping the team in the family, yet we're still months from their first training camp as owners and the sign is already up on the lawn. A few parties have expressed interest in buying the team, including Eddie DeBartolo, who used to own the division rival 49ers. But there's an interesting "B" plot to all of this -- Los Angeles. It's natural for ...
Unnamed Sources say Jacksonville Jaguars for Sale

... Now, let me set the record straight: I do not believe what I am reporting. I am merely passing along what Michael Silver reported on Yahoo.com. In his article about the St. Louis Rams being for sale, he mentions that "unnamed" league sources claim that the Jaguars owner, Wayne Weaver, has sought buyers for the team. ...
Could the Rams Be Back?
Published 5/21/2008 by NFL Adam (noreply@blogger.com) at The Hater Nation
Could the Rams be reborn in Los Angeles again? Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the St. Louis FC is for sale following the death of Georgia Frontandrearie. But current owner Chip Rosenbloom is doing his best to quash those rumors by releasing this terse statement. "It has only been four months since my mom passed away. Her passing immediately caused speculation that we were selling the team. When a team is passed from one generation to another it becomes to some a calling card that the team must be for sale. So to reply to this article: Nothing has changed since my mom’s passing. We’ve been approached by ...
One crazy day

... because of a stop on “Good Morning America” and trips to New York and Los Angeles. It’s apparent he’s not focused on football and doesn’t see the game as a number one priority. He’d be smart to step down, because his antics are only distracting his team. 10:00 a.m. – A Yahoo! Sports piece from Michael Silver suggests the St. Louis Rams may be up for sale . This isn’t shocking news given owner Georgia Frontiere’s death earlier this year, but makes thing interesting with Toronto and Los Angeles appearing interested in getting franchises. Silver also says the Jacksonville ...
