After all, general manager Francois Giguere said Friday that he doesn't yet know what kind of qualities he is looking for in the next Avs coach. The Colorado Avalanche have fired head coach Joel Quenneville after three seasons behind the bench for the NHL club. Quenneville in his time in Denver went 131-92-23 but was only 2-2 in playoff series. Quenneville had taken over the team which was slipping on it’s way down to the bottom of the league after nearly a decade at or near the top that saw them win two Stanley Cup .
