Fabio Capello Mulls MLS Move. But to which team?
Published 7/16/2007 by Bob at The Offside
... | July 16th, 2007 Now that his onetime Real Madrid midfielder is in the United States figuring out where to find some decent fish and chips in southern California, Fabio Capello has indicated that he is mulling an offer to bring his boring, yet effective managerial skills to an unnamed team in MLS. Capello probably wouldn t have an introductory press conference replete with confetti and Spice Girls, but that doesn t mean that he wouldn t save American socce r from whatever it needs to be saved from. They have contacted me from the United States, however I must think about it, Capello told Monday s Gazzetta Dello Sport without naming the U.S. team. It would be a new experience that would intrigue me not for the money but to see if anyone could make American soccer take off. If anyone could do make things take off it would have to be a coach who was sacked from Real Madrid because his style of play was deemed too bor ...

Fabio Capello to MLS? Yeah, Why Not...
Published 7/17/2007 at The Soccer Weblog
... a move to MLS? The hope was that Beckham ' s big name arrival wouldn ' t be the last, but most onlookers were expecting quality players the wrong side of 30 (Jay-Jay Okacha?) Instead the league is linked with one of the premiere coaches in the whole world. Despite his last day title win, Madrid sacked the more or less legendary 61 year old Italian coach for being too boring, replacing him with Bernd " exciting " Schuster. " They have contacted me from the United States, however I must think about it, " Capello told Monday ' s Gazzetta Dello Sport without naming the U.S. team. " It would be a new experience that would intrigue me not for the money but to see if anyone could make American soccer take off. " With all respect Don Fabio, I seriously doubt Americans will switch over to soccer because some Ita ...

Just Because I'm Gay for David Beckham Doesn't Mean I Like Soccer

Something about him. I don't like soccer. I'm not ready to like it yet, much like I wasn't ready to like John Amaechi's book, the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry, and Who's Now. ESPN's assuring me that I will, but I'm just not sure yet.

Beckham Becomes A Blogger

Can his blog change the face of American soccer forever? Absolutely not. But $900 aviators are jazzy. With all this coverage on ESPN and other media outlets, I've yet to hear anyone astutely explain how this dude can change our soccer bashing culture, which seemingly gets it's kicks--for lack of a better word--in mocking out how soft soccer players are.
