Erin +4Congratulations, Gossip! You know you've made it as a blogger when your fake interview gets lifted and then rudely dismissed by said lifter. -
missgossip Ohhh Ian Thomsen, why won't you return my calls? I just want to be loved. *sob* -
Atma Brother #1 Yo Ian and SI- Denial ain't just a river in Africa!
Shame on him and SI.com for that lame apology note too:
NOTE: An earlier version of this item contained a quote attributed to P. Diddy, which turned out in fact to be the creation of a blogger. My apologies to the readers and to P. Diddy, for attributing it erroneously to him.
How about apologizing to my potna Gossip too? I can't believe he (or his editor?) tried to dismiss this as the "creation of a blogger" instead of taking responsibility for being duped by a joke. The poor attribution and lack of a link to Miss Gossip is straight shayyy-dee.

... . After spending a good 10 minutes trying not to piss myself laughing at the hilarity of SI stealing quotes from an imagined conversation, I decided I needed to create a Fanhouse account and ESPN account for the sole purpose of sharing the awesomeness. Since this, SI has taken down the quote, ran a correction while still refusing to give credit to the original source, and Fanhouse has a post about the dust-up, where we kindly get mentioned. So what we've long suspected is now officially confirmed: Plissken is "P. Diddy's favorite West coast basketball blog." Now if we can just win Mistah FAB's support I'll really be pleased. ...

A story from the weekend: late on Friday FanHouse nation noticed that Sports Illustrated had used a fake quote from a satirical FanHouse post. And this made no one was happy. ... : The best part of the video chat was at the beginning, where Oden is asked about this well-traveled pic of himself gettin' down 'n' dirty with a female friend: His response upon seeing the photo: " 'Drunk Athlete'? I wasn't drunk. I was perfectly sober. She was just backing up real good (laughs) ." Oden explains it was actually a high school party, and the young lady featured was wearing a longer dress that became rolled up. He added with a grin, " I had fun that night ." Expect these unattributed quotes to show up in Sports Illustrated columns very quickly .

Will The Big Time Media Ever Learn?

... blog post pretending to interview P.Diddy on NBA draft day fashion. Not only did SI take it without credit, but they presented it as fact. Assclowns! While nobody would even think of stealing any of my work, because quite frankly I don t think I am funny or good enough, but I have formulation a opinion on this problem that is being presented to bloggers. It s not like these big time media guys are stealing numbers or quotes (mostly) from us bloggers, no they get those handed to them on a silver platter. No, they are stealing the stuff they can t provide. The humor and creativity that most bloggers are known for these reporters guys got their fancy journalism degrees, and know how to write but they are mostly stale and unfunny. So these big time media guys take the thing that is most important to us bloggers, our creativity, and they are so full of themselves, that they t ...
