Published 12 days ago by Orson Swindle at EDSBS
... Them’s the numbers for the spring games, compiled by the guys at the Big Red Network who, understandably, are quite proud of the massive attendance for Pelini’s first spring outing. Insert jokes about “places with nothing to do” leading the list, though we’re wondering about Iowa State being so low on the list: shouldn’t more people have attended just to huddle for warmth? Chizik-nickels don’t buy as much kerosene as they used to, we guess. ...

Chris Dufresne, Los Angeles Times: Are the Pacific 10 and the Big Ten alone in standing in the way of a playoff? Plus, Ed Goren, the president of Fox Sports, says the network doesn't care if there is a change in title format, it just wants to stay in the game. Jason Siffring, Big Red Network: The site's annual look at spring game attendance. You can compare the 2008 numbers to 2007 and 2006. Chip Scoggins, Minneapolis Star Tribune: E.J. Jones, dismissed from the Minnesota team a year ago ...

Roundup From The BN Walk: News & Notes
Published 10 days ago by Nestor <info@bruinsnation.com> at Bruins Nation
... Speaking of spring scrimmage, Nebraska blogger Jason Sifring from Big Red Network has a pretty cool post on 2008 college football spring game attendance around the country. The 15,052 announced attendance at the Rose Bowl put UCLA at number 32 in the list. However, considering it was only the first scrimmage at the Rose Bowl in CRN’s first year, the figure is actually pretty good. Nebraska led the nation with 80,149. Alabama and Ohio State was second and third at 78,200 and 76,346. Then again the options for things to do on a spring Saturday in Lincoln, Tuscaloosa, and ...
