It's a simple hypothetical question, and we'll never know for sure. Four and a half months ago, New England trounced the New York Jets in the season opener. But the bigger storyline was that the Patriots had cameras trained on the New York sidelines, and they got caught doing it. If it wasn't for that event, would the Patriots be here? Would they be undefeated?Dan Shanoff found this 2/1/2008 on beta.profootballtalk.com
Buried in the Friday New York Times article regarding the desire of Senator Arlen Specter are the first on-the-record comments regarding Spygate from Matt Walsh. Who’s Matt Walsh, you ask? He was an employee of the New England Patriots from ...The Big Lead found this 2/3/2008 on mondesishouse.blogspot.com
by Jason Devander jasondevander@gmail.com Full Disclosure: I have always had a ton of respect for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter, so I was pleased to see that he brought "Spygate" back into the headlines two days before the Super Bowl. Even though ...Posted 2/7/2008 on Bleacher Report
Just when the public thought Spygate was put to rest, the media dug up the corpse and dished out thirty lashes. Coincidentally—or perhaps intentionally—the agonizing tale caught a second wind on the doorstep of Super Bowl XLII. For those who had better things to do and missed the Spygate sideshow entirely, let's review a brief timeline complete with a who's who. I now ...Posted 2/7/2008 on Bleacher Report

Like most fans that were thrilled to see the New England Patriots lose the Super Bowl, I had also been pretty keen on the idea of this whole “Spygate” issue dating back to 2001. That was at least until today, when a post by Michael David Smith got me thinking. If all [of “Spygate”] is true, [...]Posted 2/7/2008 on Bleacher Report

PHOENIX -- The Spygate controversy is only getting bigger with just one day until Super Bowl XLII. The New England Patriots released a statement this evening denying a published report alleging they recorded the St. Louis Rams' walkthrough on the...Posted 2/2/2008 on NFL GridIron Gab
I know, I know. Just when everyone had assumed that Spygate had run its course, there is yet another case of spying on another team’s activities. John Tomase of the Boston Herald reports that according to a source, a member of the *GASP* New England Patriots’ video department filmed the St. Louis Rams’ final walkthrough before their contest - Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002. ...Posted 2/2/2008 on Sports On My Mind
This piece began as an innocuous update on what was known as “Videogate” and has now, by ESPN, been turned into “Spygate.” As the update was being written, new news broke and with it came a revelation, of sorts. First, I want to ask people to use the original name, “Videogate” instead of “Spygate” which is way too obvious and far too ...Posted 2/2/2008 on thejetsblog.com
So Senator Arlen Specter is trying to make an inquiry to the NFL regarding SpyGate … ah this story just won’t die. People in New England (just check the audio vault on WEEI.com) are taking personally Arlen Specter’s inquiries to Roger Goodell on the destruction of the SpyGate tapes, saying he’s grandstanding and just being an NFL fanboy — he calls into Philly ...Scrap posted 1/25/2008 from www.epiccarnival.com
