Combined with the fact that Silva would be coming to the slightly weaker and DH-less National League, I think he’d be a fine addition to the Mets rotation. Or at any rate, a better option than most, and one the Mets could acquire without shipping off any more young talent.

... the joint, the Mets won’t be stuck with him in 2009. He essentially takes Guillermo Mota’s place in the bullpen, so he wouldn’t have to do much to be an improvement, and he’ll do it for about $2 million less than Mota.
But the best endorsement for signing “Wiser,” is that the Brew Crew doesn’t like it.

However, we can also see with the data potential reasons why they spew such vitriol at bloggers: job security. Costas, Conlin, and Smith are all probably wealthy enough to withstand losing their jobs due to their employers going out of business, but they all probably have a passion for their jobs as well, and that’s what they fear losing primarily.
