Move made to clear room for Cameron By TOM HAUDRICOURT thaudricourt@journalsentinel.com Posted: April 27, 2008 Dave Bush knew there was a chance this could happen. That didn't make the news any easier to take. After spending the last two-plus seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers' starting rotation, the 28-year-old right-hander was told Sunday afternoon he was being optioned to Class AAA Nashville. ... [link]

... - Dave Bush was sent to the minors to make room for Mike Cameron. I'm a little surprised he cleared waivers (he could have been pulled back if he was). It seems like if another team didn't put in a claim, a division rival might have just to block the move because the Brewers all but definitely would have pulled him back off waivers if he was claimed. Parra is still not real safe in the rotation. At this point, it seems like he wasn't sent down simply because he is a lefty. Parra had a nice game today, but only went 5 1/3. He hasn't got through the sixth inning yet this season. ...

Mike Cameron's Coming Back

... certainly not fair to say that the Brewers are off to a bad start, because 14-10 isn't a bad start. It is fair to say that they're probably mildly concerned to find themselves in third place, even this early, if only because the Cubs and Cardinals have played so well during this first month. Accordingly, they're probably happy to get one of their key off-season acquisitions back this week when Mike Cameron returns from his 25-game stimulant suspension on Tuesday. The real question now is how the Brewers are going to align their outfield with Cameron back in the ...

David Bush sent to the minors
Published 4/28/2008 at BBTF's Baseball Primer Newsblog
David Bush sent to the minors I didn’t use the Journal-Sentinel’s article heading. Figured that would send the discussion in the wrong direction. As to the subject at hand: After spending the last two-plus seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers’ starting rotation, the 28-year-old right-hander was told Sunday afternoon he was being optioned to Class AAA Nashville. The move was made to clear a roster spot for the return Tuesday of centerfielder Mike Cameron from a 25-game suspension. Bush, who won 12 games in both 2006 and 2007, but was 0-3 with a 6.75 earned run average in four ...

Pirates vs. Mets, 29 April 2008
Published 4/29/2008 by Charlie at Bucs Dugout: Front Page Posts
... -P- The Brewers just made room for Mike Cameron by sending SP David Bush to the minors. I don't know what the Pirates really have to offer the Brewers, and I don't want them trading prospects in any case, but if I were the Bucs, I'd call to see what it would take to pry Bush away. The Pirates need a starter, and Bush's numbers indicate he could be helpful. He's posted K/BB ratios of 3:1 or better the past two years, and he keeps the ball on the ground. A good portion of the blame for his bad ERA last year goes to the Brewers' ...

Bush vs. Parra: Why the Brewers messed up

Like most Brewers fans, I was stunned Sunday afternoon. First I have to sit at Miller Park and watch our offense not do much of anything and lose a tough game in 10 innings. Then, as my buddies and I were driving home, I heard Breaking News. The Brewers were optioning Dave Bush to Nashville.
