Stupid is …
More Kansas City Royals. I keep meaning to write about some other teams … but the Royals just keep doing amazing things. Amazing things. Here’s the thing — and, I’ll admit, this might be a bit of a flaw — but I tend to believe that there aren’t many ...

KC Bans Writer For Thoughtful, Accurate Analysis
SPORTSbyBROOKS — ... Swartz. I don’t have an agenda here – unless you count “I want to see the Royals win” as an agenda. But sports is the ultimate results-based industry. In the short run, excuses are fine. In the long run, well, it doesn’t matter how good your reasons are for missing the playoffs year after year – all that matters is that you miss the playoffs year after year. If you’re not successful, you lose your job and someone else gets the opportunity to see if they can be successful. Oh, and Joe Posnanski ...

O’s Baserunning Has Been Awful - Trembley Blamed
Camden Crazies — ... - but I think he’s alright. He seems to be a good enough leader of the team and handles the intangible stuff well, and I can’t think of anything blatantly stupid that he’s done off the top of my head.  Rule #1 of being a manager is first do no harm, and I think Trembley stick to that pretty well.  In any case, this digression is more for that “do no harm” thing and how I have a greater appreciation for Trembley after reading about other managers. Like this, from (appropriately) Joe Posnanski about Royals manager ...

What did I miss?
Royally Speaking — Quite a bit I guess -more losing, more managerial ineffectiveness, and a ranyban. Between working long hours and a computer that seems to decide when it wants to cooperate I haven't had the chance to post or really keep up that much with my favorite team. I also got a new toy that seems to be monopolizing my time. Hopefully now I'm back on track. I had some ideas for topics that I couldn't get to so I'm gonna just throw them all in here, Antonio-style. Put me in the camp that thinks both Trey and DM should be fired. DM preached OBP last ...

Kings of Kauffman | A Kansas City Royals Blog — ... to Gibbons would have the same impact as what the Rockies have experienced this year, but it is noteworthy how changing the manager can profoundly alter the atmosphere and attitude of a team and its style of play.  I don’t believe the Royals players ever respected Trey Hillman, so he can’t lose the team.  After all you can’t lose what you have never had.  While on the topic of our manager, check out this brilliantly crafted piece by Joe Posnanski titled Stupid is … Another article I really enjoyed reading about was ...

Cheer Up! Things Could be Much, Much Worse!
"MyTeamRivals" via MyTeamRivals.com in Google Reader — ... time (oh, and you're welcome, Yankee fans).  They currently sit in third place, four games behind the division-leading Kittehs and two behind the second-place Pale Hosers.  All of which is very, very depressing.  But take heart Twins fans, we're not the only ones sharpening our razor blades and drawing a bath: The Royals are teh suck.  This is hardly news.  But this team has so many problems, it's difficult to know where to begin. I mean, good God, they replaced Sidney Ponson with Bruce Chen in the starting ...
