Some people say that the Orange went from second seed in the NCAA Men's lacrosse tournament to third because of the loss to Colgate. I wonder what those same people would say of Syracuse (13-2) now, after they beat Canisius (10-6) by the score of 20-3 in the first round of the tourney.

Syracuse (12-2), after losing their last game of the season, were placed as the third seed in the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament. They will face Canisius (10-5) at the Carrier Dome.

One thing I am pretty certain about is this: the Orange are going to have a harder game this weekend against the Fighting Irish than they did against Canisius. I know that isn't too much of a bold statement, especially when SU beat Canisius 20-3 last weekend. The Syracuse Women's Lacrosse team will host a playoff game for the first time in their history as the No. 5 seed in the 2008 NCAA Tournament .
