 SU-Maryland Recap - The Axeman
"At the beginning of the game, I was thinking a little bit too much about my injury. Not being aggressive like I usually am, penetrating like I usually was. I told myself at the first TV timeout, if I am going to be out there playing I may as well go all out. Just go until I can't walk, go until Coach Boeheim has to pull me out of the game." -Jonny Flynn That about says it all, doesn't it ... [link]

... Syracuse advances to the Elite 8............of the NIT. Hey, it's better than nothing, West Virginia won the NIT last year and they looked decent last night. I didn't get a chance to see the game, but the Post Standard as always wraps it up, plus after reading Axe's recap, I felt like I was there anyway. ...

... 14,768 were on hand for the game but almost all of the players and coaches talked about how it felt like there were 25-30K. So good job, folks. Keep it up. You can find more quotes and insight over at Axe's wrap-up. ...

In basketball, they're both proud programs who have eerily mirrored each other's in terms of ...

Jonny Flynn Doesn't Know It's A Show, He Thinks It's A Damn Fight!

Sore back, schmore schmack. Jonny Flynn put it all on the line last night to lead the Orange in a 88-72 win over Maryland in the NIT 2nd round. Just imagine how pumped this guy will get when he plays an actual NCAA game. Flynn scored 23 along with 7 assists and put SU over the top in a deceivingly close game despite the final score. The lead changed nine times and the game went back forth ...

Evidence mounts: This guy is Goode

It's tough to select your blog's official athlete. (Truly, try it sometime. It's like a combination of choosing a college or naming your firstborn. Except harder.) But we've found our man...at least, for the next 12 hours.

SU beats Maryland in the 2nd round of the NIT

If anyone had a theory that the Syracuse team was going to throw in the towel because they were in the NIT and not the NCAA's, watching last nights game should have put that to rest. It was definitely put to rest for the 14,768 that braved a blustery night and trekked up the hill to the Dome.
