Crisp Morning
Published 3/9/2008 by StatsGuru at Baseball Musings
The latest rumor sends Coco Crisp to the Cubs for Jason Marquis and a low level prospect. Marquis would provide depth in the rotation and be more of "sure thing" than Bartolo Colon. Given how easily a misstep can occur and cause an injury to a starting pitcher, pitching depth of any kind is invaluable. However outside of Major League experience and health, Marquis, who is currently fighting for a spot in the Cubs rotation, doesn't have a whole lot going for him. Coming off a 2007 season where he was 12-9 with a 4.60 ERA in the National League, I wouldn't expect too much more ...

... RUMOR MILL: Apparently there's a radio station in Chicago reporting the Red Sox and Cubs are discussing a Coco Crisp-for-Jason Marquis-and-Sam Fuld trade, a swap that makes zero sense in this corner and seems highly unlikely. (It was also quickly shot down ...

Daylight Saving Time Wreaks Havoc on Roads; Rangers' Roster

... The Red Sox and Cubs' management must be still adjusting to the time switch because they're considering swapping OF Coco Crisp for SP Jason Marquis. The Cubs have a fine outfield already, with Soriano, Pie and Fukudome, while the Red Sox really shouldn't be shopping their best defensive outfielder when the other three ain't exactly green lights on the injury front. Also: who would ever want Jason Marquis? ...

Cubs Coo Coo For Coco?
According to MLBTraderumors.com , the Cubs and Red Sox are discussing a swap of Coco Crisp and Jason Marquis. While I understand the Sox want to give Ellsbury the gig and all... Jason Marquis? Give me a break. This guy barely hangs on to a #5 spot in an NL rotation. Imagine him in the AL? His ERA would balloon and he'd give up about 40 homers on the year. Crisp on the other hand would be a ...
Crisp to the Cubs for Marquis, Fuld?
The Cub Reporter has information the Red Sox are close to reaching an agreement that would send Coco Crisp to the Cubbies for Jason Marquis and outfield prospect Sam Fuld . "Crisp is signed through 2009 with a 2010 team option that, if bought out, would mean he's owed $11MM over that time.  Marquis is owed $16.25MM through 2009, so the money is probably close enough for two of the ...
