Talks between Harris, Bears break off Links1
There were no fireworks when contract talks between Drew Rosenhaus and the Chicago Bears broke off Wednesday. Just because they didn't reach a new deal for defensive tackle Tommie Harris doesn't mean it's not a possibility, as well as a priority for the Bears. It just might take some time. Extensions for players under contract are always a delicate issue. The Bears are believed to have ... [link]

Contract Talks With Tommie Harris Broke Off
Published 4/10/2008 by WCG <info@windycitygridiron.com> at Windy City Gridiron
The Bears, Tommie Harris and his agent Drew Rosenhaus have left the table, but that is not actually a bad thing. They didn't leave at an impasse or on bad terms, they just needed to step away for awhile. It is believed that the Bears have offered Harris more money than Tommie Kelly was overpaid in Oakland. The deal would make Harris the highest paid defensive tackle in the league. Harris wants to play in Chicago, but still wants to be paid as an elite player and have one more shot at free agency when he turns thirty.

With less than three weeks left before the 2008 NFL Draft, the drums are beginning to beat louder for teams to make certain picks. The Oakland Raiders fans may be beating the loudest drums, just not the same ones. The sounds emanating from Raider Nation sound a lot like Chris Long, Darren McFadden, Vernon Gholston, or trade down amongst others. It seems like we hear this every year, but ...

Coming soon: Third annual MVN Writers’ Mock Draft

LDizzle’s take on draft “experts” was just in time. Its MVN’s turn to compile a mock draft. This will third annual edition of the MVN writers’ mock draft. Thus far, Thoughts from the Dark Side is 0-2 in predicting the Raiders choices. In 2006, I selected AJ Hawk and last year Calvin Johnson. Hopefully, this year with Rob on board we’ll be able to get one right.
