Continuing to add parts to their roster that will potentially offer them more flexibility in the draft, the Patriots reached a contract agreement with tight end Marcus Pollard today, according to a league source. In an effort to fill the void at tight end that was created by the release of Kyle Brady, and possibly to divert attention from the tight end whom they hope to acquire on draft weekend, the Pats have signed veteran tight end Marcus Pollard . Pollard is a veteran who spent ten years with the Colts before two years in Detroit and a season with the Seahawks. The other tight ends on the roster are Benjamin Watson, David Thomas, and Stephen Spach.

On February 3, 2008, the New England Patriots lost in the Super Bowl. They finished the year 18-1. They were not undefeated.
