I feel like an idiot because of the title of this post. It obviously wasn't a YES crewmember saying that, but I didn't realize it until after I posted the link. Either way, it is funny.

“Terry Crowley is lucky he’s in f*cking baseball” says YES crewmember (Video) Hmm...Sounds strangely like Lasorda. During the third inning tonight, John Flaherty and Ken Singleton were having a conversation about Orioles hitting coach Terry Crowley. All of a sudden, a disembodied and robotic sounding voice takes over the broadcast and you hear as clear as day “Terry Crowley is lucky he is in ####### baseball”. Some other insults follow, including the teams that released him. I suspect this was the producer meaning to talk in the ear of Ken Singleton, but it was somehow picked ...

S.I.’s “King of Swing” Dissed By YES Gaffe
Published 5/22/2008 by Steve Lombardi at WasWatching.com
Yankee Stadium Insider has the story and the video. Way back when, Paul Katcher had the audio from Earl Weaver that slipped out over the air this evening. (It’s NSFW or the kiddies. But, it’s an absolute classic if you’ve never heard it before…) Terry Crowley, after the game, about YES said: “They’re the artists, I’m the canvas. They paint the picture the way they want to.” (Yeah, I’m kidding about that last part.)

... MUST-SEE TV: Earl Weaver's long-ago tirade against Terry Crowley -- "He's lucky he's in (bleeping) baseball" -- was recorded on tape by someone and has been kicking around the Internet for years. Last night, somehow, someway, it actually got on the air during the YES broadcast of the Yankees-Orioles game. The blog NYY Stadium Insider has the video clip. [Warning: They didn't bleep it out, so keep your speakers down if there's someone you don't want to hear it.] ...

Terry Crowley still lucky to be in (bleepin') baseball

... Crowley in the dugout. As the announcers talked about Crowley's playing days with the O's, the famous "Manager's Corner" radio interview where Weaver (right) happily gets his foul mouth on started to play in the background. It was in that interview, you might remember, that Weaver (kiddingly?) riffed that Crowley was "lucky to be in (bleepin') baseball!" because he could sit on the bench for eight innings just like anyone else.  Anyway, you can go view what's sure to be the last few seconds that some YES producer or intern ever ...

‘Crowley Is Lucky He’s in F—ing Baseball’
Published 5/22/2008 by Jamie Mottram at Mr. Irrelevant
The YES broadcast of last night’s O’s-Yanks game took a minor misstep: That isn’t a member of the booth doing the talking, that’s Earl Weaver’s stone classic rant somehow getting picked up on the airwaves. And you know, Earl’s right: The Crow, who used to hit in the pinch and is now their long-time hitting coach, was (and is) lucky to be in f—ing baseball.
