Question?  Why do we focus on the athletes and not the people who recruit them.  As an educator, students from Urban Centers, in most cases, are not ready for the expectations of these schools.  I don't say don't take a chance if the services and programs are in place to serve them.  Secondly as a high school administrator, the average Balck high school male in an urban center has had at least one brush with the law or a probation officer.  I'm not implying that people can't turn their lives around, but knowing what I know as well as the people who recruit them.  Why are people shocked by their immaturity, irresponsible behavior and attitudes?

Another question? why do we only concern ourselves with the ones that do "bad", and not ask what happen to the crop of athletes recruited in the previous year that we no longer see in the process of recruiting a new batch?  Perhaps, we should think about what is wrong with the system, fix it and not focus on the brothas so much-especially if the gaol is not to help, but to harm.  Trust me, these young men have enouh problems.
