Next Saturday in San Antonio will mark the first time four number one seeds will do an on-court two-step in the Final Four. UCLA-Memphis, Kansas-North Carolina will be the matchups. Saturday, UCLA boa constrictor-ed Xavier 76-57. It’s almost saddening how many people are rooting for Memphis to lose just so they could say ‘told you so…’ That's why I'll be rooting for the underdog tonight. Did I really just call Memphis the underdog? Sports are ridiculous sometimes. The Weekend’s Best - Final Four Rock Chalk Outline

If Kansas hopes to take home the title Monday night, they'll need to repeat their defensive effort from Saturday against a Memphis team firing on most if not all cylinders. Either that or they need to hope that in the next few hours John Calipari somehow becomes Kansas' head coach, and then returns to coach Memphis before the tip. Nothing fires up Kansas like defecting coaches.Enter Your Kansas-Memphis Prediction Here

Later tonight the Final Four will began as North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA and Memphis take the court. The only Georgia connection I can find there is that Memphis’s Robert Dozier orginally signed with the University of Georgia back in April of 2004 (his SAT scores were later flagged and he changed schools and the rest is history.) The Memphis Tigers were up by nine points with 2:12 remaining in regulation but missed free throws and a game-tying three-pointer by Mario Chalmers with 2.1 seconds left helped Kansas win their first national championship in 20 years with a hard fought 75-68 victory over the Tigers.Heavyweight Matchup

I’m not trying to rub salt in the wounds of the Memphis faithful, or be overtly nasty — I was kind of pulling for them just so Tennessee could say they beat the National Champion three years in a row. The one weakness Memphis had all season was free throws…and that is what killed their shot at college immortality.
