10 hours ago NEW YORK (AP) Gabe Kapler has gone from minor league manager to major league hassle for opposing pitchers. Fitness Protection Program

Rumor has it that after Sunday's 9-7 Brewer victory over the Mets, Gabe Kapler, a one-time fitness magazine cover boy and a minor league manager at this time last year, snuck into the Citi Field construction site and buried one of his pectoral muscles underneath one of the concrete pillars, further cursing the Mets beyond what he did today, which was homer, double twice, and knock home three runs. As if the Mets need any more curses, between scoring six runs off of Jeff Suppan when they could have used those runs the last time Suppan faced ...

... The Sox got lucky with Phillips Hughes' inexperience, and even luckier that David Aardsma and Javier Lopez had ten outs between them to stave off the Yankees' ever present offensive threats, but they scraped the bottom of the bullpen barrel a bit tonight right before going off to Cleveland. ... . After yesterday, people outside Wisconsin will finally begin to take notice, though. Beating the New York Mets' brains in will do that. Kapler, who has been hitting second for the Brew Crew, has had little to say publicly about his hot start. ...

Gabe Kapler...Met Killer?

I do miss the days when Gabe Kapler, the scrappy, little guy, played for the Sox. He was just a hell of a player and fun to watch. It was great when he returned..until he blew out his knee and all was lost. But now after retiring and managing for a year, he is back with a vengeance...and he's taking a lot of it out on the Mets of all teams!

Game Recap: Brewers 9 -- Mets 7

The seven runs and 14 hits picked up by the New York Mets was no indication of how they really played today, failing to get the big hit in the many situations they created. They dropped the game, and the series, to the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 9-7. Oliver Perez made the start for the Mets, and simply did not have his best stuff, or his good stuff, or even his OK stuff.
