The Blazer worth three or four wins this season - OregonLive.com: Behind The Blazers Beat
Spent an hour with Nate McMillan in his office Friday, and the coach had some eyebrow-raising comments, but none of them stunned me more than this: "I think Taurean Green is going to win us three or four games for us this year,'' McMillan said. "I do.'' After I picked my jaw up off McMillan's desk, and asked him to repeat what he just said, the coach remained straight faced and insistent on ...

Friday Bullets
ESPN.com - TrueHoop — ... Nate McMillan talks to the Oregonian's Jason Quick, who writes about it on OregonLive. The news? Taurean Green, says McMillan will not only be playing, but will be winning three or four games for Portland with his outside shooting. (Sergio Rodriguez, on the other hand, is out of the rotation, says McMillan.) McMillan explains his love of Green: "He's small, but you don't win back-to-back (NCAA) championships as the starting point guard unless you can play. You put him on the floor at the end of the game with Brandon (Roy) because he can shoot the three. Right now, I would say he is the best three-point shooter among the guards. He handles the ball, runs the pick and roll, gets up on his man ... I like him." The Blazers need to make a trade or two, for sure. If they can shed a little payroll they could be under the luxury tax. They have too many point guard ...

Stop Destroying Dreams, Nate McMillan
Truth in a Bullet Fedora — ... It's official: Two of my favorite young players in this league have been destroyed by Nate McMillan. This article made it official that Sergio Rodriguez is out of the point-guard rotation for the Blazers this year, which disappoints me to no end- if I had to make a list of my favorite players in the league, it would look like this: ...

Odds and ends
Portland Trail Blazers — ... 2) Nate MacMillan has a dark horse pick for a Blazer who’ll be worth 3 or 4 wins… - and its TAUREAN GREEN?!?!! My opinion - if this prediction comes true, this Blazers season will be in big time trouble. I’m not arguing that the Blazers will compete for a playoff berth, but I am predicting the Blazers’ record will be at least as good as last year’s team. If Taurean Green plays enough to win 3 or 4 games for this team, one of the following things will have occurred: a major injury to a key member of the guard rotation, or a complete breakdown in effectiveness at the point guard position. I don’t have anything against Taurean as a player or as a Blazer, but if this is the case, my prediction of at least 32 wins goes out the window and my expectation would be that McRoberts, Webster and Sergio are seeing tons of playing time too ...

Greg Oden is a Riot
walkoffbalk.blogspot.com 9/27/2007 — For someone who really hasn't been known for that long, there are not too many more likeable guys than Greg Oden. The big guy's goofy charisma makes it absolutely impossible not to like him. Sure he looks like he's 35 years old, but that has nothing to do with it. Oden will be sidelined all season with a surgically repaired knee, but that won't stop him from contributing. "I'm going to ...
