The Biz of Football :: Part of the Business of Sports Network — The most loyal 18-24 year-old fans of the National Football League are in the Pittsburgh and Baltimore markets, according to a survey by Scarborough Sports Marketing. According to Scarborough, 6 percent of 18-24 year-olds in Pittsburgh call themselves “avid” fans, the highest interest, while 8.8 percent call themselves “loyal”. Pittsburgh was followed by Baltimore (5.9% avid, 8.2% loyal), Indianapolis (5.0% avid, 7.8% loyal), Denver (4.6% avid, 6.4% loyal), and Philadelphia (4.3% avid, 7.0% loyal). The NHLPA takes issue with how death benefit for players with service in the Plan prior to July 1, 1986 (and for certain NHL employees with service prior to July 1, 1994) are being calculated.
