... his home run ways but who cares because he is still hitting now and leading the mets (Most of the others are doing work as well) to alot of victories defensively and offensively. I just wish he would hit a home run this weekend so he can shut up all of those yankee fans saying AROD 14- DAVID 0. Well heres another thing for all of you Yankee fans to read. Mets 13. Yankees 8-. Just look at the standings. There is no I in team but there is a ME and that is what David is not about. He is about team work and he is about winning and if there was more players like him, Then baseball would have alot more class acts out there. With all of this football talk about Adam "Pacman" Jones, It gets me laughing about when they can try and point to baseball. The one role model they have is David Wright. He is truly one of the best players in all of the land on and even off the field. For more information about his foundation which all the proceeds go to an amazing cause, Please visit

Wednesday WHIP: MVP beyond the numbers
Published 9/12/2007 by Steph at Global New York Mets Fan Blog
... Two years ago David created the David Wright Foundation to raise funds for MS, children's causes, and a number of other beneficiaries. He devotes time during the off-season for a number of events, including his "Do The Wright Thing" Gala held annually in December. Although his good fortune has allowed him to reach out to those less fortunate at such a young age, it should make many of us stop and consider what we can do to help others. ...

It Ain't Called the Gold Arm Award

... If it's just a popularity contest, well, fine. David deserves to be popular. He's the one Met who's been making the rounds in the wake of total team disaster. He carried himself with grace on The Daily Show and The Big Idea when the question of The Worst Collapse Ever comes up. He looks like he wants to kill himself (and probably several teammates), but he answers the Jon Stewarts and Donny Deutsches like a pro with a heart. While most of his teammates have scurried back to wherever collapsed Mets go once they've blown their lead, David's promoting his foundation so he can help others. Gosh, he remembered to thank Sandy Alomar, Sr. for hitting him so many ground balls and thus improving his defense. ...
