The “DJ White is a Piston” post
Wow — I don’t think anyone expected the Pistons to have this many options. With Mario Chalmers, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Bill Walker and DeAndre Jordan still on the board, the Pistons selected DJ White out of Indiana with the 29th overall pick. I guess we should have figured — it was a month ago that word of a promise first leaked. Updates will follow.  ... [link]

Spurs draft George Hill

With the 26th pick in the draft, the Spurs selected IUPUI Guard George Hill. Who, you might be wondering. I expected Hill to be drafted in the second round and with Mario Chalmers, Chris Douglas-Roberts, DeAndre Jordan, Donte Greene and even Darrell Arthur all still available, I was pretty surprised to hear David Stern call out Hill’s name.

The draft was underwhelming, but that’s probably a good thing

That was … interesting. I don’t think anyone outside of 5 Championship Drive thought last night would go the way it did, passing on guys like Chris Douglas-Roberts, Mario Chalmers, DeAndre Jordan, Joey Dorsey and Nathan Jawai twice (and ...

On Second Guessing
I love CDR.  I was hoping that he'd fall to 35, but I thought it would be highly unlikely.  He's a classic case of scouts and GMs getting hung up on the wrong stuff, and missing the fact that a guy can PLAY.  (As such, he's a fascinating contrast to DeAndre Jordan, who didn't even start consistently for his college team.)  Look at it this way - on the same team as ...
Here's What You Need to Know About DeAndre Jordan
Since the 1999 draft, the Orlando pre-draft camp has conducted a combine in which they measure prospects 27 different ways.  In those 10 years, here is the complete list of current NBA players who have been through their doors who have a longer reach than DeAndre Jordan (9'5.5"): There aren't any.  Pavel Podkolzine measured out at 9'8", which by iteslf was enough to get ...
Well, That Certainly Went Better Than Expected
Seriously, if you'd told me yesterday that the Clippers would come away from this draft with Eric Gordon AND DeAndre Jordan AND Mike Taylor, and only give up a future second rounder to get there, I'd have wondered what you were smoking. First of all, reports earlier in the day had them possibly giving up a future first rounder to Seattle just to move up so they could be sure and get ...
Detroit Selects D.J. White, Trades him to Seattle for 32nd & 46th Picks
Image details: NCAA Basketball Tournament - East Region - First Round served by picapp.com Maybe the rumors were true. The Detroit Pistons have been busy all the way up to the draft denying rumors that they had promised Indiana forward D.J. White to select him with their 29th pick in the first round were he available. He was, and now is, a member of the Pistons. What they ...
NETS: CARBON COPY
My bad. DeAndre Jordan is sitting in the first row and not in the draft room. Poor Darrell Arthur. It's gotten so bad that his younger brother has his head on the table and is fast asleep. There was a run of big men starting with Robin Lopez (15), Marreese Speights (16), Roy Hibbert (17), JaVale McGee (18), J.J. Hickson (19), Alexis Ajinca (20), Ryan Anderson (21) and Kosta Koufos (23).  ...
Still Pickin'?
No Sonic trades to report as of yet, and with the #24 pick looming, will the Sonics go for foreign-born talent here, just to help Clay Bennett avoid spending more than $0.01 more than he has to while he's in Seattle? DeAndre Jordan is still hanging around (please no, please, please, please), as is Kosta Koufos. Three names stand out for me: CDR, Courtney Lee, and Nicolas Batum. I know ...
FINAL TWO IN DRAFT ROOM: ARTHUR AND JORDAN
Darrell Arthur and DeAndre Jordan are the last two standing. Not much of a surprise with Jordan, who hasn’t really done anything to establish himself as a lottery pick. However, Arthur is extremely talented and has also proven himself. Toronto just took Roy Hibbert with its first round pick, No. 19 overall. Chris Bosh, Jermaine O’Neal and Hibbert – with no one in the backcourt. No ...
Bubbles always pop; that's what they do; that's why we call them bubbles. Dot-com, housing, and now DeAndre Jordan. The man who kept us at the edge of our seat all season waiting for him to take over a game, but never did, is sliding in the NBA draft. Some how, despite his college "performance", DJ's stock never dropped. But now, after some one-on-one matches where he " did not looked good ...
DeAndre Jordan Watch
As KFan in Korea noted ... from DraftExpress : As a result of my continuous efforts to obtain the latest inside information, it is now this writer’s opinion that DeAndre Jordan has substantially impressed teams with how well he has presented himself in private workouts (with Sacramento and Phoenix) and his stock is on the rise! That just happened. There have been two ...

Deandre Jordan And Michael Beasley Are Quite Friendly
Photo by Matt Carr/Getty Images I’m not really sure what’s going on here but it looks like Michael Beasley is awfully fond of Deandre Jordan and is about to whisper sweet nothings in his ear. More Slippage For DeAndre Jordan?
Forum threads here at CelticsBlog have been abuzz with what was once presumed to be wishful thinking of Texas A M center DeAndre Jordan slipping down so that the C's could take him with the final pick of the first round.
