The Thunder have the same record under Scotty Brooks as they did under P.J. Carlesimo. Nevetheless, there have been some positive changes, particularly the development of their star sophomore.

After Carlesimo
BallerBlogger.com —
Yesterday, I linked to a blog at Thunderguru.com that talked about Oklahoma City’s offensive improvement and defensive slide since replacing PJ Carlesimo with Scott Brooks. Kevin Pelton of Basketball Prospectus shed some light on the development today:
Despite the record, it’s easy to see that Oklahoma City has played better with Brooks at the helm. Their point differential is still bad, but at least respectable. On average, a team with the Thunder’s -7.5 differential under Brooks would have won about three out of 13 games. ...
Kevin Durant's Silent Breakthrough

... immediately moved KD to small forward from two-guard, and the Thunder figured to slow the pace, lowering the opportunity for mistakes. Brooks has had 13 games in charge of the Thunder, just as many as Carlesimo had this season. So how's the re-invention going? Kevin Pelton of Basketball Prospectus investigates. ...

Remember after an Olympic game this summer, Deron Williams had to be restrained as he tried to rush off the court? Something weird was happening, as I blogged about at the time. Sheridan finally talked to Williams about it, and e-mails: "I finally got a chance to ask him about it last night, and he said he was running away from the drug test guy, emphatically and jokingly, because he had ...

I know this was included in today's Bolts, but this is just too good to not put a neon sign on. Pelton wrote and awesome feature about the evolution of Kevin Durant. Just read the whole thing. It's wonderful. Pelton says what we've all seen: Though P.J. Carlesimo and Scott Brooks both have the same 1-12 record, there's a ton of differences between the results of the two. ...
