Report: Jets Have Not Contacted Patriots, Samuel

... and were considering a contract offer. Now, however, that does not appear to be the case. According to Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News, the agency that represents the Patriots cornerback has refuted the original Boston Globe article. They claim the Jets have not contacted them about Samuel to date and that all other reports are false. "New York has not been in contact with us," a representative from Infinite Sports said in an e-mail, responding to a Daily News query. "Whatever has been circulating can not be confirmed by us." This just appears to be another case of bad "inside information" or the media creating stories to sell papers and get hits. If the Jets were truly interested in Samuel, they would have already contacted his agent. Considering a team would have to part with two first-round picks for Samuel, there's a good chance he's just going to stay in New England.
