THE MATCH THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN: STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN VS HULK HOGAN
VIPMonster posted 3/23/2008 from ballhype.com

It's the match every wrestling fan would want to see, a Wrestlemania main event that would probably sell more pay per views than any other Vince McMahon could offer. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Hulk Hogan is a match that McMahon himself would love to present, a match that would no doubt deliver a multi-million dollar payout to both participants.
And get this. The Hulkster is aching for the match to happen. But despite the fact that every professional wrestling fan of the past 25 years would be interested in seeing the match, the main event of all main events will never happen.
In a recent interview with the UK Sun, Austin blasted Hogan, stating “He’s just a bitter, insecure guy. I give him all the credit in the world, because I’ve watched a lot of his career unfold and the Hulkamania thing was one of the biggest things ever. But believe me I’ve been around the entertainment business since the back end of 1989, and if there’s one thing you’re going to find out it’s that if you’ve got thin skin you’re probably in the wrong business. So there’s not a damn thing Hogan can say to rile me up or charge me up. I’m secure in the career that I’ve had and everything I did. It makes me laugh when he’s got to do that, because I really think it makes him look like a chump.”
Austin is still bitter at Hogan over what Austin perceives was Hogan's decision to hold down Austin in WCW. When Austin was fired by Eric Bischoff, he ventured to Paul Heyman's original ECW. Heyman had performed as Austin's on-air manager in WCW in 1991 and 1992, and wrote about Austin's drive and desire to be the number one wrestler in the entire industry in his blog for the Sun here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/wrestling/heyman/article947431.ece
So, will Austin vs Hogan ever happen? Jim Ross, Austin's closest friend in the wrestling business, blogged about an Austin return for Wrestlemania XXV in Houston, Texas next year, which would most likely coincide with a Hall of Fame induction. Would that match be against Hogan? Maybe for one last match, Vince McMahon could offer The Rock multi-millions to perform one last time, in the last match for both performers. But the real choice is Austin's.
And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold Says So!
