Since Keith Woolner easily switched allegiance to the Indians, does this mean he has been excommunicated? In two hundred years, there will be peace in Palestine, but Redsox Nation and Yankee World will cause a civil war, if not a coup.

ENOUGH, ALREADY: We were holding an impromptu staff meeting in the back of the press box at Fenway Park in the middle of the eighth inning Tuesday afternoon, so we missed what most of you saw: Neil Diamond doing a live-on-tape version of Sweet Caroline, with Tom Werner, Wally The Green Monster and others serving as Pips to Diamond's Gladys Knight. The National Hockey League's Stanley Cup Playoffs begin this week, and the cities hosting the 2008 Republican and Democratic National Conventions will be watching the games closely when the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche face off. The two leaders planning the political conventions agreed to a friendly wager on the series. Isiah Thomas was pushed out of his position as Knicks president last week by Donnie Walsh, and now his time as coach may be numbered, as well. Walsh said that Thomas will remain as coach of the Knicks through the regular season, but added that if any changes to the coaching position were to take place, it would be before the NBA Draft. The NHL Board of Governors on Thursday approved the sale of the Minnesota Wild to former Nashville Predators owner, Craig Leipold. The approval caps three months of negotiations with now former owner, Bob Naegele Jr. As reported by the St. Paul Pioneer Press: Leipold said he would own 51 percent of the team and act as its governor, but that he has taken on Minnesota native Phil Falcone as a general partner.
