There is no longer any question as to who will open the seasaon as the Los Angeles Dodgers 3B. According to an article on mlb.com (click here to view), Andy Laroche has torn the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb, requiring surgery. He is expected to miss between 8 and 10 weeks of action.
Except for the deepest of leagues, Laroche should be ignored in all formats until he is ready to return to the line-up. At this point, there is no guarantee that he will even see playing time upon returning, as Nomar Garciaparra will now have a chance to establish himself once again.
