Colon Has Another Good Start for the PawSox

Bartolo Colon pitched well in his second rehab start for Pawtucket since he injured his oblique. El Gordo went 6 scoreless innings giving up just one hit. According to redsox.com, Colon "showed excellent command from start to finish, as he worked both sides of the plate well and threw 15 first-strike pitches with his velocity topping out at 95 mph." Colon had 4 K's and no walks in the game. It looks like he is ready to join the Red Sox and fill in for Buchholz. If he can pitch like this in Boston he will have been the steal of the century. ...

With Clay Buchholz on the disabled list, the Red Sox need a starting pitcher for Tuesday evening against the Royals. Bartolo Colon pitched a one-hitter for Pawtucket in the first game of a Thursday doubleheader (box), throwing 64 pitches in six innings, 45 for strikes.
