SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Reed Johnson worked a full shift on Tuesday on his first day on the job with the Cubs. Johnson, 31, who signed a one-year contract with the Cubs shortly after 8 a.m. CT, started in center field on Tuesday against the Giants and went 2-for-5. He had been released by the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend. "You guys don't know how happy I am to be here," Johnson said.  ... [link]

Reed Johnson will not be a Met. Why you ask? Because he’s a Cub. According to the MLB website, the Chicago Cubs have signed him to a one year deal. No terrible surprise here, since Omar seemed pretty happy giving the shot to Angel Pagan, who has been doing pretty good so far in the spring. At least now we know he’ll definately make the roster.
