Pie to Let Surgeon Operate on Junk
Published 3/10/2008 by Dave at OUT OF RIGHT FIELD
Felix Pie will miss 3-5 days according to Cubs.com to correct soreness in his testicle. The Cubs announced Monday that outfielder Felix Pie will undergo a procedure to correct testicular torsion and will be sidelined three to five days. Pie has been bothered by this all spring, and the Cubs had hoped to delay the outpatient surgery so they could use the off-day on March 17 as one of the days to heal. However, Pie, 23, reported to the Cubs' facility on Monday with considerable soreness. If not corrected, he could risk losing the testicle. I was hopeful that Sam Fuld ...

This seemed popular when I did it a couple of days ago, so here it is again, for today's 6-4 Cub loss to the Brewers. Felix Pie: Ouch! That hurts! Rich Hill: Remember 2007, please. Aramis Ramirez: Doubles are fun! Mark DeRosa: Glad he's here. Les Walrond: Please release him. Shingo Takatsu: Got someone out! Tim Lahey: Will help, later. Micah Hoffpauir: I can hit! Kevin Hart: Bynum pays dividends. Cubs fans: Filled their park. Feel free to add your own. The Cubs will face the A's at Mesa tomorrow, with Z on the mound.
Pie to Have Testicular Surgery

Just a day after it looked like Felix Pie had the center field job locked up for the Cubs, he's about to undergo testicular surgery. Yeah, that doesn't sound comfortable to me either. Pie has been dealing with 'testicular torsion' this Spring, which probably hurts just as bad as it sounds, and if he doesn't deal with this now.....he could lose the testicle. I think we all agree that he's making the right decision at this point. Even though Pie has been dealing with this injury, he has hit at a .321 clip this Spring and looks to break camp as the starter in center field for the Cubs. Pie will be out three to five days and Sam Fuld, who was Pie's main competition at the ...
Felix Needs To Unpack His Luggage

Felix Pie will undergo "testicular torsion" to fix his twisted testicle. Cubs.com says he'll be back in three to five days. I, for one, would miss more than three to five days if my testicle was torsioned. I was going to post some details on the procedure, but it made my junk hurt to read about it. If you like, you can read about it ...

In testicular torsion the spermatic cord that provides the blood supply to a testicle is twisted, cutting off the blood supply, often causing orchalgia. Prolonged testicular torsion will result in the death of the testicle and surrounding ...

Is it just me, or does there seem to be an exorbitant amount of folks already making their way to DL-ville? We've seen everything from Busted wrists to anal fissures - and NO, that is NOT a joke, sadly - and the season hasn't even started! There have been enough boo-boos to make even good ol' Carl "Seriously, I am Like The Brady Bunch Tiki Idol" Pavano raise an injured ...
