The Official Site of The Detroit Tigers: News: Tigers replace Cruceta with Fossum
OAKLAND -- Francisco Cruceta's nasty splitter earned him a trip back to the Majors. His fate in Detroit was sealed with an elevated fastball. Like other relievers before him, Cruceta's nasty stuff hinged on his ability to throw fastballs for quality strikes and force hitters to go after his stuff with movement. Thames in at DH, batting third
Published 6/4/2008 by Beck at Beck's Blog
By now, no doubt, you have the news on Francisco Cruceta's designation. Cruceta Designated by Tigers
Published 6/4/2008 by Old Navy King at MLB Fleece Factor

He was 0-3 for the Tigers, with an ugly 5.40 ERA and an even uglier 1:1 K/BB ratio (or close to it). Fossum on the other hand had been working as a starter in the minors, going 3-0 with a 1.06 ERA ...
