The Florida Marlins added another option to the sinkhole that has been center field, signing veteran outfielder Jacque Jones to a minor league contract. Jones, 33, was recently released by the Detroit Tigers after hitting just .165/.244/.253 in 90 PA for the club. A career .278/327/.451 hitter, Jones will report to extended spring training to get into game shape. The 5-10, 200 pound lefty will likely platoon with Cody Ross in center field, with  Alfredo Amezaga spending more time in the infield.
