TG Analysis
Pena is a 26 year-old switch-hitter with some ability to play the outfield corners. However, there’s not a whole lot to get excited about: Pena has hit an empty .300 over the past 2 seasons at AAA Richmond (.302/.341/.372 in ‘06, .300/.337/.423). Pena’s swing-at-everything approach will fit in nicely with that of his Kansas City teammates, who have drawn the least free passes in the majors (7.1 BB%).
