Dodgers Lose Fifth Straight as Offense and Starting Pitching Continue to Struggle

The Dodgers have played their last six games without Rafael Furcal and with tonight’s 5-3 loss to the Brewers, they have now lost five in a row and are back at .500.
Furcal was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday and won’t be eligible to return until May 21. But this Dodgers offense, which has averaged just two runs a game during the losing streak, could really use him now.
Of course, it would be completely unfair to blame all the bad play on the bats as the starting pitching has been pretty bad too. Dodger starters have had so much trouble containing hitters that exiting the game by the fifth inning has become a common practice lately.
