The Official Site of The Milwaukee Brewers: News: Yost furious over false report
PITTSBURGH -- A furious Ned Yost admonished media outlets for feeding what he called "a frenzy" on Monday over an erroneous blog report that he was to be dismissed. > "That's bull," the Brewers' manager told beat reporters before the start of his daily afternoon availability. "That's a joke. That's totally irresponsible. It's a joke to print [stuff] off a blog. You kidding me?" The Brewers ... [link]

Educating Ned Yost...

by South Side Rob I don't care whether everybody or nobody picks this article up. Everybody has the right to say what they want to say. Thanks Ned. I didn't need your permission but I thought it was necessary to print it. The Brewer Nation (Another words, South Side Rob) once made the mistake of running with a story that was initially reported on a local sports radio station about a false trade involving Adam Dunn, Chris Capuano, and Tony Gwynn Jr. If you recall, I did apologize for that mistake and I haven't come close to becoming that careless again. This is a opinion blog. Period. We are our own sources. We don't have sources close to the organization or in the ...

MLB: Yost furious over false report

MLB: Yost furious over false report Yeah...who would post such ########?! That’s totally irresponsible. It’s a joke to print [stuff] off a blog. You kidding me?” ..."The blogs and the radio talk-show guys, it’s fun, but they don’t have all the information. And That Happened

Rays 3, A's 2: Emil Brown, whose misplay of a ball in the eighth made the difference in the game, is not exactly the consummate teammate: "Brown said he tried to get low to the ground to have a better view of the ball, but that didn't work. After speaking to the official scorer after the game to tell his side, the play was changed from an error to a hit."There's nothing I can do about losing the ball in the lights," Brown said. I have no idea if players think about this stuff, but his lobbying act added half a run to Joey Devine's ERA. If that half a run ends up being the difference between an end-of-season ERA of, say, 2.45 instead of 1.95, that will cost Devine a lot of ...

... THE (ABUSE OF) POWER OF THE INTERNET: You may have heard there was a blog report Monday that the Brewers were about to fire Ned Yost. I didn't link to it because there were about 84 smell tests it didn't pass -- at its worst, you could assume it was just a guy throwing something out there with no attribution whatsoever -- but some media outlets either reported it or attempted to follow up on it. Well, it wasn't true (duh!), and a furious Yost has some harsh words for the organizations that did repeat the rumor. (mlb.com) ...

That Darned Blog!
Published 5/21/2008 by Geoff Young at Baseball Digest Daily
Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost is upset over reports of his imminent dismissal, which to this point have proven untrue. The larger story here involves why "traditional" media might be concerned about blogs and the like. From what I can tell (and it's difficult to discern, because I get the impression that a lot is being left out), an unnamed blog ran an item on Monday suggesting that Yost would be fired. Other media outlets then picked up on the story and reported it as fact. Quoth Yost, addressing beat reporters: The blogs and the radio talk-show guys, it's fun, but they don't have all the information. To sit back and criticize or talk about certain situations when they don't have all the ...

Brewers throwing darts for starts

Could Ned Yost just be throwing darts at a board to choose the Milwaukee Brewers next starting pitcher? The Brewers have decided to move Carlos Villanueva out of the rotation, and make him work out of the bullpen for a while. The choice to replace Villanueva? It’s Seth McClung. Yep Seth McClung, the guy who couldn’t even cut it in Tampa Bay. There’s no doubt Carlos needs some more seasoning
